In June 2025 Mrs Wethered listened to an inspiring podcast about food in schools. She shared this with other staff and we were all equally interested in the idea that lunchtime at school could be so much more than soggy potato and cold peas. This is where our journey began, to provide the children at Graffham school with a lunchtime full of joy, learning and delicious freshly made locally sourced food. 

During the summer term the staff and children at Graffham started to think about how they could create a nicer lunchtime environment – flowers on the table, sharing salads and lots of talking about where food comes from. We started growing some of our own salad and received some kind donations from Tesco.

Teachers have now started mulling over ideas to provide the children with more fresh food every day.
