Curriculum Intent:

Our English curriculum provides opportunities for self-expression, creativity, and understanding the world. We strive to create an inclusive, nurturing and engaging learning environment where students develop a deep appreciation for language, literature, and effective communication. We teach and empower our children with phonics, early reading, strong language, spelling and grammatical skills, critical thinking abilities, and a love for story and information gathering.

Implementation

To develop students’ language proficiency in speaking, listening, phonics, reading, grammar and writing, enabling them to express themselves clearly and confidently.
To cultivate strong literacy skills, including reading comprehension, inference, interpretation, and analysis of high quality and appropriate texts.
To inspire creativity and imagination in writing, empowering students to express their ideas, stories, and emotions.
To foster cultural awareness and understanding through exposure to diverse literary works and authors covering various backgrounds, families, religions, and experiences
We immerse students in an English-rich environment, encouraging language use within and beyond the classroom through storytelling, drama, and public speaking.
