Our Curriculum

Curriculum Intent:

Our “Love Our World” curriculum is designed with a commitment to fostering a generation of responsible global citizens who cherish and protect our planet. Grounded in the belief that love, empathy, and understanding are foundational to shaping a better world, within a Church of England School, our curriculum aims to instil in our children a deep sense of appreciation for humanity’s diversity and the natural environment.

We will create a learning journey that equips children with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to make a positive impact on the world.

  1. Environmental Stewardship: We emphasize environmental awareness, sustainability, and responsible practices through connection with nature and learn to protect and preserve our planet for future generations.
  2. Cultural Understanding: Our curriculum celebrates the richness of cultures, promoting mutual respect and appreciation of diversity.
  3. Social Justice and Equity: By exploring issues of social justice and equity, students develop a strong sense of social responsibility. They are encouraged to advocate for fairness and equality, within their school community and daily life.
  4. Global Perspectives: Our curriculum encourages children to think critically about global challenges and interconnectedness.
  5. Well-being and Mindfulness: We prioritise the well-being of our students, promoting mindfulness practices that foster self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and resilience. Children learn to care for themselves, their peers, and the world around them.
  6. Creative Expression: The arts play a vital role in our curriculum, providing students with platforms for creative expression whether through music, visual arts, or performance.

Curriculum Impact:

With the “Love Our World” curriculum, we endeavour to ignite a lifelong learning and responsible local and global citizenship. By nurturing love for our planet and its inhabitants, we empower our students to become compassionate leaders who actively contribute to a more inclusive, sustainable, and harmonious world.
