Curriculum Intent:

Our computing curriculum is based on the belief that technology should be harnessed as a tool to enhance learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving. We strive to cultivate a positive digital mindset, emphasising the responsible and ethical use of technology.

Implementation

  • To develop children’s’ digital literacy skills, enabling them to use technology confidently, safely and effectively to access information, communicate, and create content and to equip them with  essential information technology skills, including word processing, multimedia creation, and internet research.
  • We prioritize hands-on learning experiences, allowing students to actively interact with technology and develop practical skills.
  • To promote responsible online behaviour, internet safety, and ethical use of technology, ensuring our children become responsible digital citizens.
  • To encourage creativity and innovation through technology, providing opportunities for children to express their ideas through digital media.
  • To introduce children to basic coding and programming concepts, inspiring a passion for computer science and its links to their everyday life.
  • Our computing curriculum offers various learning pathways to cater to students’ diverse interests and learning styles, encouraging independent exploration.

Curriculum Impact:

Our Computing curriculum equips children with essential digital skills, fostering creativity, and preparing them to navigate the increasingly technology-driven world.  Children develop a strong sense of digital citizenship, understanding the ethical and responsible use of technology. They also learn about online safety, privacy, and cyber awareness.
